DANNY GEELEN

Danny Geelen is a plant biologist with broad interest in plant biotechnology and leads HortiCell, a research unit at the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering, Ghent University. HortiCell performs research in plant tissue culture, (regeneration and adventitious rooting), plant biostimulants and sexual reproduction. The Biostimulant subdivision of HortiCell investigates and develops novel biostimulants based on extract from organic waste streams (Projects Bio2BIO, BIO4FOOD, ZEROWASTE) and bacterial isolates from hydroponic cultures.
