Prof. Luigi Bavaresco

He got theDegree (“Laurea”) in Agricultural Sciences, by “Università Cattolica S. Cuore, Piacenza (Italy) on 1980, where he is  Professor of Viticulture. He got the Doctoral Degree in Agricultural Sciences with a designated emphasis in Viticulture, by Ecole National Supérieure Agronomique (E.N.S.A.), Montpellier (France), on 1991.  He was appointed Director of CRA- Research Centre for Viticulture at Conegliano (Italy) (2010-2014).   His research activity in viticulture  (germplasm characterisation, disease resistance, grape stilbenes, metabolomics, breeding, mineral nutrition, cultural practices, climate change) is documented by 192 scientific papers and 108 technical articles He attended many national and  international symposia  as invited speaker. He got the 2016 Prix de l’OIV for the book: Bavaresco L., Gardiman M. (2015) Italian Wine Grape Varieties – Their Viticultural Characterization, Gianni Sartori, Ponte di Piave (Treviso, Italy).  He is scientific secretary of the Expert Group “Genetic Resources and Vine Selection” of  the Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin (OIV, Dijon/ Paris).
