Michael Martin

Michael Martin is a Senior Researcher at IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute and Professor (Adjunct) of Sustainable Production and Consumption Systems at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden. His current research focuses primarily on sustainable food systems, where he leads a team of researchers, postdocs and PhD candidates in the Sustainable Urban Food Lab (SUF-Lab) at IVL and KTH. Michael works extensively with optimizing the resource efficiency and sustainability of urban and controlled environmental agriculture through circular production methods and has published a number of scientific articles and chapters on the use, application, and governance of LCA to assess the sustainability of vertical farming systems.
