Gregory Lang
Gregory Lang is a Professor of Tree Fruit Physiology at Michigan State University, a Fellow of the American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS), and the Education Director for the International Fruit Tree Association (IFTA). He holds a BSc from University of Georgia and an MSc (Pomology) and PhD (Plant Physiology) from the University of California-Davis. Dr. Lang’s research groups have been instrumental in advancing the physiological understanding and adoption of dwarfing precocious rootstocks for sweet cherries and advancing innovations in labor-efficient fruit tree training and orchard covering systems. He has published more than 200 research and industry articles and 7 books, chaired several international working groups in fruit science, and is the recipient of several awards, including 2001 IFTA Distinguished Research; 2010 ASHS Graduate Educator; 2019 ASHS Outstanding Fruit Research Publication; and 2019 Italian Academy of Agriculture Cherry Research. Greg travels extensively to speak on cherry production practices, and to exchange ideas and experiences with growers and scientists worldwide.
